This is what I ate today to fuel my body and maintain my muscle

When I first started my fitness journey 8 years ago, everywhere I looked was diet pills, diet culture, no carbs, all cardio attitude towards health and wellbeing. I was 45kg, under-eating, overtraining and cutting off food groups, I had no one to look up to, or anyone to guide me. I binged, deprived myself, and ended up stuck in a constant cycle of never being happy with how I looked or what I ate. I felt completely lost and alone.

I’m 28 this year, and for the first time in a long time, I feel so confident. After years of being at war with myself, I now choose today and every day to celebrate the body I have and the lifestyle I’ve created. I have worked so hard to feel good and secure in my own skin, and now understand the importance of fuelling my body.

Day by day, I hope this perception of food/diet culture is slowly changing and that myself / my peers in the fitness industry are paving the way to a healthy and sustainable way of life.

It was time we actually applaud women / men more often for feeling proud of what they have achieved rather than classifying them as too much/ unnecessary or toxic. Nothing toxic about encouraging nearly 3 million women to EAT FOOD 💙✌️ This is what I ate today to fuel my body and maintain my muscle
